Practice Leader – Corporate Law and Employee Benefits
Experience
Terry has over 30 years of experience in the above areas of corporate and employee benefits practice. Prior to co-founding Maselan & Jones, P.C., he was with a large Atlanta law firm and then returned to Boston to practice with a mid-size corporate firm. His experience on both the corporate and benefits sides of the practice gives him a unique insight on the importance of benefits issues in a merger and acquisition transaction, or on the corporate aspects of a succession plan which utilizes an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Terry also counsels clients directly on the development and design of innovative executive compensation and equity-based compensation programs, as well as problem resolution and representation in government audits of retirement plans. He is an active member of the ESOP Association, the National Center for Employee Ownership, and the Ohio Employee Ownership Center. Terry also speaks frequently on corporate business succession and employee ownership. He was named a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and a New England Super Lawyer for 2007, the first year of that designation. In addition, he holds the highest (AV) rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
